A Light in the Darkness
For the second consecutive year, BUILDING participates in the Piano City Milano marathon (17 – 19 May 2019) and together they organize a site-specific concert for via Monte di Pietà 23, with the participation of the Ricordi Music School and Andrea Goretti students. The concert will be held Saturday 17 May at 17.00, a few days after the inauguration of Dire il tempo – Roman Opałka, a retrospective (4 May 2019 – 20 July 2019), curated by Chiara Bertola.
The concert consolidates the vocation and mission of BUILDING, as a center for all types of art, also conceived for the performing arts, with a program that tries to make different disciplines interact with each other and communicates with the city. Recording of counting in Polish and, in particular, his double diagonal “white on white”, already sketched in Chronome(1963) and Fonemat (1964).
“Andrea Goretti’s music is highly introspective and meditative. The virtuosity lays below the surface, in the clever and controlled use of dynamics and harmony. Especially in his piano solo music, he is able to evoke subconscious feelings, far from the chaotic world in which we live. Andrea Goretti is working to achieve an original aesthetic combining modern jazz trends with classical and contemporary music. In his music you can hear a chorale or something like a two-voices invention in the middle of a free improvisation or a clusters’line.”
