Elena El Asmar

Elena El Asmar was born in Florence in 1978 and lives in Milan. As Pietro Gaglianò writes, “Elena El Asmar’s work takes place as a continuous ‘exercise of the distant’, combining the mental dimension of places with their tangible reality. Starting from the figuration of memory, and in its encounter with materials, the artist’s Phoenician cities branch out along the borders of the Tuscan landscape, postmodern architecture, imagined space“. She is one of the founders of Madeinfilandia and C.O.S.M.O. (Come Ogni Semplice Movimento Ortogonale [As any simple orthogonal movement]).
